Child Abuse: If a mother is silent, The future is silence

As a Social Responsibility Project, education about child abuse was given and brochures were handed out  between 9 May and 30 May 2018 every Wednesday between 9 AM and 4 PM at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital within the context of the Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing lesson, in the counseling of Assoc. Prof. Emre Yanıkkerem and Res. Assist. Aslı Karakuş Selçuk from Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department. Third year nursing students, Melike Aktuğ, Dilek Harman, Meryem Sena Öcal, Özge Yenmiş, Hümeyra Tanış, Asiye Çoban and Rabia Dumlupınar, informed women who applied for any reason to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital and handed out brochures. Project advisor Assoc. Prof. Emre Yanıkkerem, who indicated that it was aimed to provide information about child abuse, raise a general consciousness in society and increase awareness of women with this brochures. She also stated that child abuse was a very damaging condition to children's mental and physical health and that it was very important to be aware of the abuse that children had experienced and to take the necessary precautions. For this reason, she also emphasized she was happy that university students contributed to this consciousness and thanked head of  Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital director for supporting this activity.
